Paris:
The city of love and passion. In many surveys,
Paris is often chosen as the most preferred city for a romantic vacation. Paris is a big city, and it has changed so much since it gained its reputation as a romantic city, but it has managed to retain the title because of romantic settings, history, food, fun, ambiance, and its reputation as romantic.
Venice: Venezzia, as it is called in Italian, is a dream. Your first reaction when you arrive will be to think that you are entering a fairytale. In many surveys, Venice is ranked as the second most romantic city. Everything in
Venice is romantic and unique. Venice is a tourist city, so you have to do your research to avoid falling into tourist traps, particularly the ones designed by those romantic and charming Italian men.
Florence: The birthplace of the Renaissance,
Florence is one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Full of historical treasures and some of the most amazing museums, even its streets are full of history. In the heart of Tuscany region of Italy, Florence offers great cuisine and day trips to the
romantic Tuscany
countryside (Remember the movie
"Under the Tuscan
Sun?"). Or you can do what
celebrity chef Rachael Ray did.
Go to
Castello di Velona.
Barcelona: Barcelona offers a unique mix of a modern city with a vibrant nightlife and history everywhere. It is city full of art, both modern and old. A great shopping place with extraordinary food. Beware that a formal lunch in
Barcelona as well as in other places in Spain will last a few hours and you will be served so much, so good food that you will be sorry you cannot eat more. Barcelona also has great beaches and you can also think of an escape to Ibiza.
Rome: There is so much to see and do in
Rome. Unbeatable in history and art, Rome offers great restaurants, nightclubs, plazas, and of course, places to see. You can also go to Venice and Florence if you have the time but we do not recommend going to too many places on a honeymoon. It makes sense to do day trips but the last thing you want is shunting from place to place.
Nice: The place to play for the rich.
Nice is not cheap, but it is trendy, it has great adult entertainment, beaches to be seen at and see, and a place to feel rich and famous.
Istanbul: Half in Europe, half in Asia, this interesting combination makes this large city very unique.
Istanbul is modern and it is old; it is a city of contrast. You can expect great nightlife, good food, good service and a very unique culture.
Madrid: Madrid is a large city with many faces. It can seem very commercial if you do not do your research, but
Madrid offers the best of a good city: restaurants, nightlife, theater, museums, history, and great people.
