St. Barths in the Caribbean
The best kept secret in exotic travel

St. Barthelmy is a small French island in the Caribbeans - actually, just 9 square miles of land. No wonder then that if you are seeking privacy for your honeymoon or for that romantic weekend - as do celebrities like Ricky Martin, Martha Stewart, Julianne Moore, Woody Allen, Jennifer Aniston, P. Diddy, and Brad Pitt - you can sneak away to these exotic destinations, where you can truly bond with your partner (or if you have the time - with Nature).

Why do we recommend St. Barths for couples?

Simply because we think that when you can focus on your partner, you can use the trip to enrich your relationship. A destination that is full of distractions, like museums, art galleries, historical places, etc., has its place in travel for couples, but it also means that we are constantly trying to make sure that we do everything that tourists are supposed to do. At the end of the day, we are so tired that we just collapse in bed and the cycle begins the next morning.

Not in St. Barths, though. It is a place to unwind and recharge. There are no distractions unless you count the waves and the breeze as a distraction.

Photo of the beautiful scenery in St. Barths showing the blue water, greenery, and the homes.St. Barths is still a big secret known only to a select few. First, there is hardly any advertising by them. Most people learn about it through someone who is really into exotic travel. Two, cruise ships are not allowed even in the area. Finally, getting a visa can be a challenge for citizens of many countries.

St. Barths is actually very well connected from all major airports in the country. Most travelers from the US and Europe do not need a visa to enter the country. While French is the most common language, almost everybody understands English.

Unlike many other Caribbean destinations, you can get married in St. Barths but considering the size and population (estimated 7,000 residents), the church logistics can be a challenge - so plan ahead. However, organizing the party is not a problem. And it is a perfect venue for honeymoon or romantic getaway.

There is another major difference. While many other Caribbean islands are conservative and have somewhat strict dress codes for the beach, in St. Barths anything goes.
