A tropical paradise for couples (wedding, honeymoon, romantic getaways, or even family vacation)

The number of places that you can go to in the Atlantic Ocean is incredible and savvy travelers know how to find them. While you might be tempted to get on that cheap flight to Barbados or Cancun (not that there is anything wrong with these places), the smart vacations are looking for an experience when they vacation.

And one destination in the Caribbean that provides both pleasure and privacy is the island of St. Lucia. No surprise then that the island has been voted as the world's best weddings and honeymoon destination for three consecutive years.

Is St. Lucia for you?

If you look at the number of celebrities that may be in St. Lucia, you might wonder if this tropical paradise is for you. Wonder no more. In fact, the island has even won awards for being the top Caribbean family vacation destination. So if you are not going there for a wedding, honeymoon, or a romantic getaway, bring your kids along.

The island is not popular for business events (good for us travelers who want to have fun than to watch bored business people) but for the adventurous among us, it offers all the adventure you can soak in - diving, snorkeling, sailing, yachting, wind surfing, hiking, running and trail riding.

Planning your trip to St. Lucia

Like many Caribbean islands, there is no direct flight to St. Lucia from the United States. However, you can simply hop on a flight to Puerto Rico and you are all set to fly from there. Visa requirements for nationals of some countries are a bit challenging but no problems should be expected if you are a tourist.
