Fitness tips
for newlyweds
Get rid of those pounds
By Mark Shusterman
Studies
show that most newlywed couples
put on weight
during the first six months of marriage. A
combination of indulgence before and after the
wedding,
honeymoon, and then just a sense of
happiness that prevails after the wedding can do
a lot of damage to your body. According to
a study carried out by Newcastle University's
Human Nutrition Research Centre and published in
Complete Nutrition, women develop worse diets
and put on weight when they set up home with men
but their partners benefit from improved eating
habits. Lifestyle changes were found to occur
during a couple's "honeymoon"
period when they began cohabiting and tried hard
to please each other. |

Maine writes, "Within 9 weeks of our wedding,
I had put on an extra 23 lbs and my husband
added 34 lbs. We were just going out more
often and having parties at home that we forgot
about our fitness. What do we do
now?" (Related article: Motivate

Well,
the
rules for weight loss are very simple:
- Eat just a bit less than what
you really need for your lifestyle

weight by cutting calories)
- Exercise regularly and more
than normal to burn fat till you reach where
you want to be and then you can exercise just
to stay fit, build muscle, and maintain your
weight level.
- Keep smiling. Weight
loss and fitness should be fun; not torture

Since you both are still young
and deeply in love, it makes great sense to work
on your fitness goals together. That way you
can still be together and build on a great body.
