Fondue is back in fashion. This is great because it gives the opportunity of easy entertainment and it is an appropriate way to entertain during winter. Fondue comes from the 60s and 70s when miniskirts and large graphics provided the decorations.
Let’s toss a few ideas for a fondue party.
Although we can call it vintage, the new
fondue is very much a creation of our times, but you can have a true vintage theme party asking your guests to dress in 60s or 70s style, or you could simply keep it 21st century.
Music, of course, is a very easy way to create an ambiance of any era that you like. Don’t have the songs from that era? We love to download specific songs from the
iTunes and other similar music download websites. We create our own compilation of songs appropriate for the theme of the party.
The decorations. Well this is a Valentine fondue so use Valentine colors and remember red and pink are not the only ones. Hearts, Cupids and roses - the traditional symbols are great, but you can use red flowers of any type to save some money. Oh, then there are candles
and lamps!
Lamps are a great way to create a romantic ambiance. Please do not forget chocolate and wine (and an appropriate non-alcoholic drink for guests who can not consume alcohol).
Let’s fondue
To have a fondue party you will need at least one
fondue set, but two are better, so that you can have a cheese fondue and a sweet fondue.
Fondue sets usually come for 6 people. So if you are planning on having more than that, you will need more fondue sticks. You may use regular wooden sticks but they have to be strong.
