Just indulge your sense

 

Beautiful garden with multi color flowers.How often does it happen that we forget that beauty and health are essentially what is within us? What we see outside is just a reflection of what is inside. Someone who is not at peace inside, does not feel the inner beauty and is more likely to look ugly even on the outside.

Have you realized that you feel good with certain people and find them to be extremely beautiful even if these people would not be counted as beautiful by ordinary standards? The answer is simple. It is their inner beauty that is having a positive influence not only on them but also everyone around them.

Such thoughts are widely prevalent in oriental cultures since most of these are derived from ancient philosophies and how people perceive small things in life. Why would someone make such a big deal about tea ceremony if it were not for turning it into a spiritual experience? How about decorating your food in a very stylish manner as is common in Japan? Why does gift wrapping have to be so elaborate? There is a very important reason for this and that is partly explained by how some oriental cultures know to indulge their senses. 

In the developed world, the speed of life is so fast that many of us do not have time to enjoy some of the simple joys of life. With the cell phones and the Internet, this has become even harder since we have two distractions that we did not have a few years ago. What this means is that we now have no time to give our senses moments of peace. Here are some of the things that you can do to indulge your senses. So just hold the hand of your loved one and go:

Touch something:   We are talking about touching water flowing in a stream, pebbles on the beach, or just green leaves in the garden. Feel the energy flowing from these inanimate objects to your body and just feel the pleasure. Try to go to a garden or a lake if you have one in your area.

Smell the Nature:  Just open the windows and let the fresh air come in with the aroma of Nature.  Try some aromatherapy.

Enjoy the silence:  Sounds of Nature are as good as silence since these sounds are in sync with the rhythm of nature. Get away from it all for a while and hear the wind blow in the trees and the birds sing in the garden.

Taste of the pure:  Human body will be just fine with uncooked food. That is how we were. Spend a weekend and try to eat just plain meals made from raw fruits and vegetables.

Indulge your vision:  Life would be so boring if we could not see. So for a while don't just look but actually see. You will come out totally changed from this experience.
