How to find
a husband?
If you are over 30 and divorced
Renee is a 30-year-old
single
mother of two daughters ages 11 and 5 years. I
have my own home, working full-time, and
attending college to obtain my
bachelor's degree in Network Communications. All
of my time is spent with my daughters. I want to
find
a man who is right for myself and my
daughters,
but I don't
trust men because of the pain my
daughters' father put me through. He
married
another woman while I was
pregnant with our
youngest daughter and
that totally devastated me. I thought we had a
good relationship and he had never mistreated me
or our older daughter so when he did this I
found it too hard
for me to comprehend and I just shut myself off
from ALL men! I have been on several
dates with
some nice and successful men, but I would always
find
"something wrong" with them and I would end it.
I am a
very attractive and
goal-oriented woman,
but sometimes I do get lonely. How do I let go
of the past
and open my heart again to hopefully somebody
who will treat myself and my daughters the way
we should be treated?"

Y ou are not alone - a
divorce leaves
lifelong scars on most people and some are never
able to
trust a lover again. Having said that, you should
still make an effort to
put the past behind you and
make a fresh start. Indeed, the world is full of
cheaters, liars, and crooks but at the same time it
has wonderful people like you too. But you must
agree with me that no one is perfect - I hope that
you don't think of yourself as perfect. So, yes, if
you
meet a man that is almost right for you, I would
say, give him a chance, even if he is not "perfect."
Could you screw up again? Probably. Should you not
even try? I think you should try. Every single day
we take all kinds of risks, sometimes we win, other
times we lose, but we go on with our lives taking
those risks as
an integral part of life.
It is important to understand that even a
perfect
relationship can end simply because someone changes.
I mean what man would leave
Nicole Kidman or
Jennifer Aniston but two men did. But people have
to
move on. While experiences make us who we are and
how we judge the world, they should make us smarter
not closed minded.
