Meeting new people for shy women is not easy. Not only do they need good conversation starters, they also need to be able to carry on a conversation, which isn't always easy if they run into a shy guy.

You could always start off by asking why he chose the course. Did he study it before? Has he read any other books on Asian history? What other courses he has chosen? What does he plan to do with his Asian history knowledge? Does he watch Asian movies? What about Asian cuisine? What is his favorite?
