Solving
relationship problems
How to bring back the spark?
|
|
Stacy
is just 26, has lived with her boyfriend for
seven years, and is the mother of their four
children. She writes, "I am afraid that he is
not
attracted to me any more but I want to
please him more than anything else in this
world. I am in desperate need of some help!
Please give me some ideas to
keep our flame burning."
It is likely that,
like many couples that have been together for
some time, you may be going through that phase
when the
excitement dies somewhat as they get
absorbed in family issues and start taking each
other for granted. However, you are only 26 and
both of you have a long life ahead of you in
which your
bedroom should not be such a depressing place.
Here are a few things that you can do right
away: |
- Make time for him and
physical intimacy. Raising four kids is a lot of
work and chances are that you are dead-tired by the end
of the day. My wife and I have no kids, but with a solid
day of work, commute, and household chores, even we are
exhausted by the time we go to bed. So we find that
mornings and weekends work out to be perfect. Find your
own schedule.
- Look at yourself in the mirror. Have
you stopped
taking care of yourself in the process of raising a
family? If so, go get a
facial. Try a new
hair style. Get a
manicure and pedicure. Buy something more attractive
to wear at home. And invest in some
good lingerie and
sleepwear. Trust me; it works.
- Chances are that your
body is not the same it used to be.
Pregnancy can be
harsh on the tummy.
Hit the gym, find a
diet that works for you, and
consult with a plastic surgeon about a so-called "mommy
makeover."
- What about your
bedroom? Think of a little makeover there with
better furnishings, maybe
aromatherapy candles and
lamps, and just turn it into a more romantic place
for the two of you.
- Talk to him. A lot of time it is just
misunderstanding that is the root cause of the problem.
If you two
communicate, things will work out just fine.
