This
is a common mistakes that couples make
in winter. They look for a
public place that is warm. As
Nancy says, movie theaters, malls,
restaurants, museums, etc. are
the most common places couples end up
in. But this is not something
that you can do forever. Here
are a few ideas that I recommend when
you simply can not go out in the open
either because it is too cold or the
weather is really bad:
Learning
date: If you check out
the local events calendar, you will
find that there is always something
being taught by someone.
Normally it will be 2-3 hours session
in which you might learn yoga or
pottery-making or cooking.
Indeed, you will not be romantically
looking into each other's eyes, this
is an excellent way to
meet some new
people and do something fun.
Voluntary
activities: I don't like
to think that this is something
unromantic or not fun. For
instance, when I was a college
student, I volunteered to read for
senior citizens. I would simply
cut out a few major news stories or
articles from newspapers/magazines and
then read these loudly and slowly to
senior citizens. If a question
was asked or just to provide some
background, I would add some
commentary. I brought along some
of my dates and they really liked it. Theme
date at home: What you
do is to pick a theme and then
organize everything around it.
For example, you could pick an
Oriental theme. Then you could
decorate your home using some items
from a store like Pier
I, cook some
Chinese/Japanese dishes, and then may
be watch a Jackie Chan type Asian
thriller. These
are just some ideas to give you a
flavor of what you can do. A
date is not just you and your date
talking to each other all the
time. You can find a million
ways to be together and get to know
each other. |
