How to follow individual diets while dating?

In this era of dieting and fitness craze, Sonoma Diet, French diet, Oprah's diet, Automatic Diet, yoga, and Pilates, it is so difficult to figure out what to eat as a couple. What we are seeing is that couples have such diverse dietary preferences that it is not easy to cook a meal or pick a restaurant. But eating is inevitable in the life of any couple. Eat right: 

Just because you are on a date or spending the weekend with your boyfriend or girlfriend, it does not mean that you should eat junk. If your partner is out of shape or eats unhealthy, set an example by eating right and motivating her or him to try healthier dishes. It's OK to indulge: 

As Ellen and Michael Albertson (The Cooking Couple) point out, eating is a sensual experience. So keep it that way. So it is perfectly fine to eat chocolate, desserts, and seafood (after all they all seem to have aphrodisiac properties), but try to limit the portion size. And never forget to get your daily dose of exercise. -- Maintain your individual eating habits: 

No matter how much you love your partner, there is no justification to learn bad eating habits. If you are on a low-carb diet and he loves bagels, donuts, and breads, realize that it will take him time and you should help him change his habits gradually. However, in the meantime, eat your meals carefully. If his pantry does not have many low-carb foods, and you are going to spend the weekend at his place, just stop by at a health food store and grab your favorite low-carb goodies.  (Related link:  Have a meal at home with your date)

Always dine as a couple when you are together: 

That is the only way you can influence your partner.  Eating together is a great way to bond. Many couples actually tell me that they even find cooking together as romantic. Also it is easy to change your partner's eating habits by eating together since you set an example.
