Intimacy is critical for a relationship
Are you worried about your body and denying intimacy?

By Pierre Coda

No one can dispute that both physical and emotional intimacy is critical in a relationship.  A series of emails from our readers led us to investigate this matter further and what we have found is rather disturbing.  Women are too concerned about their bodies and often have low self-esteem.  Result: they are less frequently intimate with their partners.

We all agree that we are not a physically fit nation.  Two out of every three women have a weight problem.  On top of that, even perfectly good looking women often worry about their bodies and looks for no reason whatsoever.  What our research has shown is that when women put fat in all the wrong places, there is a tendency to hide it from their partners.  In addition to that, they become very conscious about their bodies.  As we found out, instead of wearing attractive lingerie to bed, they start to sleep in baggy nightgowns or T-shirts.  They turn off the lights, they do not undress in front of their partner, and they start dressing in poorly fitted clothes all the time.  The consequences are disastrous: their partners, who are very visual creatures, lose interest in them.  Physical intimacy becomes dull or routine, and in the worst cases, rare or even non-existent.  (Related article:  Surgery of hymen)

How to deal with intimacy and how you feel about your bodies?
  1. The first thing to remember is that men do not care as much about looks as you think, particularly when they are in love with you.
  2. Men also have an equally big problem with their bodies and looks; it's just they handle it better than women by not obsessing about their weights.
  3. The other principle that I always tell my clients is that you should either deal with a problem or accept it.  So if you don't feel good about your body or looks, do something about it, rather than destroying your life by not doing anything.

How to look and feel better?

  1. Losing weight is easy: eat right (not necessarily less, though you might have to do so in the beginning), exercise regularly, and be happy.
  2. Do not be afraid of intimacy with your partner.  He will love you no matter what.  So make sure that you are intimate at regular intervals with him.
