Losing weight fast

Lana asks, "I was wondering if it is safe to skip lunch. What can I do to lose 6-10 pounds in a week?"

It is never a good idea to skip a meal and it is also not always a great idea to lose weight so rapidly. In fact, we recommend that you try to lose weight literally one ounce at a time. There are many myths about diets and this is a myth that by skipping a meal you will lose weight.

What you need to do is to eat in small amounts, but eat several times a day. In other words, you try to lose weight by lowering your calorie consumption. What does it do? It stops you from feeling really hungry, and thus, chances of overeating are small. It is amazing how you can fool your system. Sometimes when you are really starving, if you have noticed it, all you can do is to drink a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or a diet Coke; you have consumed hardly any calories but for next 2-3 hours your appetite is gone.
