Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong end relationship

We had always admired the relationship of Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow since it is one of those relationships that is referred to as that between an older woman and a younger man - the new trend not just in Hollywood but everywhere. The two were about 9 years apart in their age but Crow not only proclaimed to be madly and badly in love with Armstrong she also was ready to be a mother for his three children from a previous marriage (with Kristin Richard).

The couple had met in 2003 at a charity event, almost like Kenny Chesney and Renee Zellweger, who too ended their marriage very quickly.

In a shocking announcement, however, the couple has now announced that they are ending their relationship. Sheryl Crow has had several failed relationship. She first dated an older man (Rod Stewart) and then dated two younger men, first, Owen Wilson and then Lance Armstrong.

What went wrong?

Sheryl Crow is a very successful singer but it was clear that she wanted to give her best to the relationship. So much so that the singer was reportedly biking as much as 40 miles a day to be with Armstrong. She was also always with him when he was competing in the Tour de France.

Having said that, they are also two different people. Armstrong is an athlete whose star is fading. On the other hand, Crow is a rising star and she has no plans to become a stay-at-home mom to take care of kids. In other words, when a couple does not have shared ambitions, relationships can fall apart.

So what is the learning here?

Do not get into a relationship just because that is the only thing you want to have at some point. It was clear that after three failed relationships, Crow was desperate to have a man - the wrong way to approach romance.
