Kimora Lee Simmons and Russel Simmons divorce but maybe not

Not a lot of media attention has been given to this divorce - and there is already talk of a reconciliation - but this beautiful romantic story has come to an end. It has been a rather bizarre end to the relationship. An older man marrying a much younger woman - the couple have built an empire that includes the Baby Phat women's apparel brand and entertainment products like reality television programs, a book called Fabulosity, and music.

It is reported that Russel, a highly spiritual man committed to yoga, has a "platonic" relationship with Denise Vasi, a Latina, though Kimora knew about Vasi all along.

So what went wrong?

While Russel Simmons is a Buddhist, but as one person wrote on another blog, Kimora is "the most self centered, conceited, materialistic person this country has seen in decades." He may be right. Her collection of shoes, handbags, and clothes reminds of you of Imelda Marcos (except that she did it through corrupt means while Kimora worked hard for it).
